Outgoing mail recipient limits

To preserve mail deliverability and protect shared mail reputation, outgoing messages sent through standard all2all mail accounts are limited to 50 recipients per message.

Why this limit exists

Large recipient lists sent directly through normal mail accounts increasingly trigger filtering mechanisms on receiving platforms.

This is particularly the case with:

  • Microsoft mail systems
  • large commercial providers
  • automated anti-spam reputation systems

Deliverability considerations

Messages sent to very large recipient groups often experience:

  • delayed delivery
  • spam folder placement
  • temporary rejection
  • reputation degradation of shared sending IP addresses

Repeated blacklist pressure

In recent years, repeated filtering and reputation pressure from major providers has made unrestricted bulk sending increasingly problematic on independent mail infrastructure.

For newsletters, announcements or larger mailing operations, dedicated tools remain preferable:

  • Brevo
  • Mailchimp
  • GNU Mailman
  • other dedicated mailing systems

Principle

The objective is not to restrict communication, but to preserve reliable mail delivery for all hosted users.
